Press kit: European Mac hosting, on European terms

Everything a journalist or analyst needs to write about vBoxx Mac Hosting: boilerplate, verified facts, our EU digital sovereignty angle, logos and photography. All figures on this page are our own and can be checked against our public pricing and certificate.

    Boilerplate

    Short (one paragraph)

vBoxx Mac Hosting rents out dedicated Apple Mac hardware from ISO 27001-certified Dutch datacenters in Amsterdam and Naaldwijk, with an optional German location in Frankfurt. Every machine is single-tenant, comes with remote power control and full macOS access, and is billed in euros by a Dutch company under EU law.

    Long (about us)

vBoxx Mac Hosting provides dedicated Apple Mac servers — Mac mini and Mac Studio — to development teams that need real macOS on real Apple silicon: iOS and macOS CI/CD, Xcode build farms, app release automation, rendering and on-device AI workloads.

Machines are hosted in ISO 27001-certified datacenters in Amsterdam and Naaldwijk in the Netherlands, with Frankfurt available for teams that require a German location. Each Mac is single-tenant hardware, not a virtual machine sharing a host, and ships with remote power control over an APC PDU, an optional JetKVM console with virtual media, and the customer’s choice of macOS release.

vBoxx is a Dutch company: contracts, invoicing and support run in euros under Dutch and EU law, and customer data stays inside the European Union unless the customer chooses otherwise.

We do not publish customer counts, revenue or machine counts. If a story needs a figure we have not published, ask us rather than estimating it.

The story: EU digital sovereignty for Apple workloads

European teams have moved storage, databases and CI to European providers. Their Mac build fleet is usually the last thing still sitting in a US-operated cloud, because macOS cannot simply be virtualised somewhere else. That is the gap we exist to close.

EU jurisdiction, not just an EU region

The hardware, the operating company, the contract and the invoice are all European. Choosing an EU region inside a US-headquartered cloud does not change which jurisdiction ultimately governs the provider — choosing a Dutch provider does.

Data stays where the customer put it

Customers pick Amsterdam, Naaldwijk or Frankfurt and the machine stays there. There is no background migration between regions and no shared control plane outside the EU.

    Single-tenant hardware

Each customer gets a physical Mac, not a slice of someone else’s host. Nothing else runs on the machine, which makes the security boundary easy to explain to an auditor.

    Auditable operations

Operations are ISO 27001-certified and the certificate is public. Remote power actions are logged with a mandatory reason, so there is a record of who restarted what and why.

Apple silicon is the one workload teams cannot virtualise away

Building and signing Apple software requires macOS on Apple hardware. For European teams that is precisely the workload most likely to sit outside Europe today — which is why hosting it in the EU matters more than it looks.
